A Letter From Our Founder

When I founded Complygence Cambridge, it wasn't because the industry needed another consultancy. It was because after more than 25 years leading teams across pharmaceuticals, advanced therapies, medical technologies, food and beverage, and global manufacturing, I kept seeing the same critical flaw.

Not a lack of regulations.
Not a lack of quality systems.
Not a lack of guidance.

A lack of judgement.

Time and again, I saw talented organisations become trapped by complexity of their own making. Teams were burdened by procedures that added zero value. Innovations were delayed by overly cautious interpretations of rules. Quality systems were designed to satisfy audits rather than support actual growth.

Somewhere along the way, compliance became confused with obedience.

Throughout my career, I have worked across an unusually broad spectrum of the regulated landscape. I have guided innovators developing breakthrough advanced therapies, overseen safety frameworks for food and beverage giants, led global quality functions, and optimised the international supply chains that underpin entire consumer industries.

That journey gave me a view across the whole system:

• Regulatory decisions cannot be separated from science.

• Science cannot be separated from manufacturing.

• Manufacturing cannot be separated from commercial reality.

• Commercial success cannot be separated from quality.
